VaultCTL uses AES-256-GCM — the same encryption standard used by governments and financial institutions worldwide. Every file is encrypted before it is written to storage.

If our servers were ever breached, attackers would find nothing but random, meaningless binary data. Without your unique encryption key, the files are completely unreadable — not just "hard to read." Mathematically impossible to read.
